Wendy Buenzow, Mental Health Recovery Educator, Northeast Iowa Behavioral Health
Wendy Buenzow is a graduate of Upper Iowa University. She began work at Northeast Iowa Behavioral Health in 1995 in the Community Support Services Program and trained with Mary Ellen Copeland in Brattleboro, Vermont as a mental health recovery educator in 2001. Since that time, she has facilitated over 60 wellness recovery workshops across Iowa and has co-facilitated two wellness recovery educator facilitator trainings in northeast Iowa. She has been actively involved in numerous recovery conferences across the U.S. and was recently selected, along with eight others from the U.S. and Canada, to be certified as an advanced-wellness recovery facilitator through the Copeland Center. Along with her recovery education work, she continues to serve persons with serious and often life-long experiences of mental illness on an individual basis.
