Alfonso D. Carlon, Senior Staff Trainer, Center for Health Training

Alfonso Carlon is a graduate of the University of California, Riverside, and has lived in Austin, Texas for 26 years, 17 of those spent in the public health field. He has worked in city, county, and private health clinics as a family planning educator and outreach specialist and served with the Texas Department of State Health Services for five years as an HIV prevention services trainer. He is a project director with the Center for Health Training in Austin, Texas, and directs two campus-based HIV prevention education projects for women attending historically black colleges and universities and Hispanic- serving institutions in Texas. He also serves as a senior staff trainer providing presentations and training on cultural competence, male involvement in family planning, and HIV prevention programs for college campuses.
