Chris Gleason, MPA, CHES, Operation Military Kids Director, Army National Guard, Iowa State University Extension
Chris Gleason was a member of the national Operation: Military Kids design team and has directed the project in Iowa since February 2004. Operation: Military Kids is an outreach program for the children of National Guard and Reserve soldiers and is a partnership with the U.S. Army's Child and Youth Services, National 4-H Headquarters, Iowa State University Extension 4-H, American Legion, Military Child Education Coalition, Boys and Girls Club of America, and the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies. She has a BS in community health education and a master's degree in public administration from Iowa State University. She is a 4-H program coordinator for Iowa State University Extension and a certified health education specialist. She grew up in a military family, and she is the mother of a sailor who has been deployed three times to the Persian Gulf.
