Dennis Haney, Fit for Life Program Manager, Iowa Department of Public Health
Dennis Haney is a community health consultant at the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH). He manages the Iowans Fit for Life program aimed at decreasing the prevalence of overweight and obesity. He coordinates the work of 450 partners from across the state to implement Iowa's Comprehensive Nutrition and Physical Activity Plan. Prior to joining IDPH, he worked in the human services sector for 14 years delivering non-profit residential services to children and adults. He has completed the Transformational Leadership Program through the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute. He demonstrates a commitment to health promotion and is an avid marathon runner.
