Linda Powell, Assistant Program Manager, Missouri Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program
Linda Powell serves as the assistant program manager for the Missouri Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program. She plans, directs, and monitors regional and statewide health education and community development programs that are implemented at the community, district, and statewide level. She assists with strategic planning to establish realistic goals, objectives and activities for the Missouri Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program grant and Cardiovascular Risk Reduction program components. She acts as technical advisor to provide consultation, technical assistance, program direction and resources to health professionals, Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers, contracting agencies and other interested public/private agencies to accomplish program objectives. Prior to coming to the Department of Health, she worked in the private sector of healthcare management for over 15 years. She served as the administrator for a multi-specialty, 18-physician group. Later, she served as regional manager for multiple clinics overseeing all aspects of operation for a local hospital.
